Full-Time Positions

The Juliette K. and Leonard S. Rakow Research Library, www.cmog.org/research/library, of The Corning Museum of Glass is the world’s foremost library on the art, history and science of glass and glassmaking. Its mission is to maintain a comprehensive collection on the subject of glass, in multiple formats and languages. The Library’s rich collections include books dating to the 12th century, periodicals, an extensive digital collection, over 20,000 works of art on paper and 190 archives. The Library offers reference assistance to glass enthusiasts, researchers and scholars worldwide through its in-person and virtual reference services. The Library has a staff of over 20 FTE and is open to the public seven days a week. Seasonal and Part-Time Positions

During our peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), we add a number of seasonal workers in front-line positions such as Sales Associates in the GlassMarket, Guest Services Associates at the admissions desk and throughout the Museum as well as in the Make Your Own Glass workshop at The Studio. These are temporary positions. Glassblowers and Flameworkers

Do you want to spend your summer in a creative environment? The Make Your Own Glass Workshop of The Corning Museum of Glass offers glass blowers and flameworkers employment during our peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day). We look for individuals to assist visitors blow glass ornaments, pull flowers at the furnace, or make glass beads. If you are self-motivated, responsible, have good customer service skills, and are experienced in glass blowing or flameworking, please send resume and work portfolio to Glady West at westgm@cmog.org.

Blow Glass at Sea

Are you a hardworking, articulate, friendly, expert glassblower? Come work with the best. The Corning Museum of Glass is taking its live, narrated hot glassblowing demonstrations to sea on Celebrity Cruises. Narrator/Demonstrators must be able to blow glass, interact professionally with the public, and narrate the process for the audience in an articulate, engaging manner.
