Students will fuse glass mosaic plate and bowl forms in the kiln shop and then will integrate typical Venetian-style surface treatments onto the work in the cold shop. Students will learn cold working techniques such as battuto (beaten), incisi (engraved), and velato (veiled) that will create surface textures on the surface of the glass. Cold-working equipment, including diamond and stone wheels, horizontal flat mills, belt sanders, and sandblasters will be used. No experience required; all levels welcome.
