Spring Break MakerSpace
Participate in a free MakerSpace April 8 through 14 from 9 am to 5 pm daily. Explore and learn about curious glass concepts in conjunction with the special exhibition Curious and Curiouser: Surprising Finds from the Rakow Library. Make DIY Cartesian divers, a book of your own, use circuits and motors to make your own discoveries, and more.
GlassApp Gallery Hunt
Test your seeing skills in the Contemporary Art + Design Wing. Use your own device or one of ours to seek out objects in the collection. Everything from shapes and colors, to actual items, make appearances in this fun interactive. So go for the gold trophy and see what your eye spies in the Contemporary galleries!
You Design It; We Make It!
Submit a drawing of something you’d like to see come alive in glass! Your drawing could be picked by one of our glassmakers to make in front of a live audience during a Tuesday or Saturday Hot Glass Demo in the new Amphitheater Hot Shop. Drawings will be collected throughout the week for creation during the Hot Glass Demos on April 11, 15, 18, and 22. Can't make it to the Museum for the demo? You can watch the live streams from your computer on April 11, 15, 18, and 22 at 10 am. Want even more You Design It; We Make It!? Flameworkers will choose one drawing every day which they will create during the Flameworking Demo in the Innovation Center.
Make Your Own Glass
Make a spring egg, an egg pendant, or even our all new lamb bead! Plus, try suncatchers and windchimes that catch sunny rays every day. Additional fee. Projects are for all ages. We recommend booking ahead of time.
